Martial Characters Combat Comparison
How do martial builds in Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous actually compare in a fight? The rules are Pathfinder First Edition rules as the game implements them, with its mythic paths, its own archetypes and its Unfair difficulty. Each build here is run through a rules engine at every level from 1 to 20, with the same party buffing it and against enemies measured from the game. You can see where every point of attack bonus and armor class comes from, how often the build hits and gets hit, and how many fights a rest of buffs lasts.
Quick intro
- One build per playstyle. Builds are told apart by the classes they commit to (more than two levels); one- or two-level dips don't make a new build, so only the best of each kind is listed.
- Same fight for everyone. Every build is the main character of the same party (Nenio, Sosiel, a skald and Seelah on her horse), with the same buffs, against enemies of its level on Unfair.
- Four kinds of fight. The once-a-day fight with every buff, a spike fight you can repeat, the spike with scrolls, and a sustained ordinary fight with only long-lasting buffs.
- Charge, Vital Strike, Dimension Strike, invisibility... Each attack style is counted in one specific way, or not at all yet; the attack styles table says which number includes what.
- Numbers are not the whole story. They score every build against the same enemy, at full AC, inside the same party. Builds that aim at touch or flat-footed AC, or that make the party better, can look weaker than they play; how these numbers can mislead you.
- Computed, not estimated. Every number comes from the build file and the rules below; the assumptions page says what is simplified or not counted yet.
